Swartland Community Cadet Squad is a non-profit organisation that caters for the youth and active adult segment of the Swartland region (from Philadelphia up to Mooreesburg, Riebeeck West and Riebeeck Kasteel ). As an outreach program the primary goal of this organisation is to act as both Recreational and Social Agent on the West Coast.
The core activity of this body is to establish cadet squads, drumlines as well as a marching band to include the youth in other extracurricular activities. The sole intention is to keep the youth busy with positive things in order to enhance self-discipline and direction. Furthermore it also makes provision for the youth to learn playing instruments and reading music. As such they learn to be more focused and to become an agent of change in marginalised Communities.
